Keeping the spirit alive...

The Olympics aren't over!
Let's keep the spirit alive and support our talented athletes at the Paralympics!

Here is my final Team GB design. Saved for the final, and what seems to be a most exciting, end to this summer's sporting season!

This design is a little fiddly but not hard to do.

Start by selecting varnishes that compliment each other. Lights and darks.

Paint your nails with the dark colours. Wait for them to completely dry before you take the next step.

Using the white create a cross in the middle of your nail. It doesn't have to be perfect because you are going to paint over it and touch up later.

When this is dry use a dotting tool or stripper if you have the right colours, to draw a smaller cross in the middle of the white.

Use a white stripper to touch up the edges.

And there you have it. The third and last of the Olympic/Paralympic designs.

Dots and more dots...

Another very simple dot design...

All this design takes is the patience to watch the paint dry and a dotting tool.
(remember if you don't have a dotting tool they are really easy to make! Have a quick look at my earlier posts to see how!)

First of all paint your nail with a good base coat! Black stains and you don't want your natural nail stained. Then give your nails a coat of black polish.
Once this is try place a white dot in the center; like below.

The next step is to start creating smaller, white dots in a circle around the middle dot. We are using a white so that when we use colour it will stand out against the black!

Again, wait to dry!

When the white dots are dry, you can start filling them in by placing a coloured dot on top. Use all your favourite colours.

When it is finished it should look like this....
Add a coloured gem to the middle dot and seal with a good top coat.

Another Olympic Manicure

And now for something a little different....
An alternative Olympic Manicure.

A very simple Olympic ring inspired design.

Step 1:
Paint your nails with a good quality base coat and when that is dry take a reinforcing disc and place it over a section of your nails so that you create a curve.

Step 2:
Take your first Olympic ring colour and paint over the reinforcing disc. Slowly peel the disc off and touch up and problem areas.

Step 3:
Repeat with the 5 different colours and the seal with a shiny top coat.

And there you have an alternative Olympic ring manicure.
